Ok, I'll be honest, I never planned on writing a founder's story that sounds like everyone else's. You know the ones. Had a dream, chased it, brand was born. Nice and neat.

Mine isn't neat.

I had the dream for years, but life kept getting in the way, and it kept getting pushed further down the list. The dream itself came from my own frustration, years of standing in change rooms, pinning up hems, and never quite finding clothes that fit properly, because at 5'2" and under, most things just weren't made for me.

Then a few years ago I got on a plane to the UK to sit by my Mum's hospital bed. I made it with a couple of days to spare, and at 4:10am on a grim morning, with my hand on her chest, she took her last breath.

I came home with a broken heart, but I also got the push to stop putting my dream last. So I got to work.

I did the research, met with manufacturers, and went with my gut on who to partner with. My gut doesn't always get it right, but on this one, it did. Then came the part I thought would be easy: "let's make clothes for women 5'2" and under." Turns out that's not easy at all. It meant redefining fit for 5'2" and under from scratch, not just shrinking down a pattern made for someone taller.

Fit after fit, it had to be right. Every squat test in the shorts, every sit-down check on the skirts, every wash test. Sizes 6 to 18, because no two bodies are the same, and the patterns had to work for all of them. And no sleeveless anything that shows what I hate seeing on myself, those bulges by the armpits. If we couldn't hide them without making the garment uncomfortable, it wasn't good enough to be made.

Then there was everything else nobody warns you about: the website, swing tags, labels, packaging. The list never actually ends. I thought once the clothes were sorted, that was it. I was wrong. There's always something.

So here I am, later in life, instead of slowing down, learning new things, trying new skills, and doing my best not to run away from the camera. All while juggling our family business, my tennis, and trying (and mostly failing) to manage my time properly.

A bit about me while I'm rambling: I wrote a book once. Got it published too. Reading it back now makes me cringe a little, and without any marketing behind it, it didn't go anywhere commercially. But I did it, and that still counts for something to me.

The name Kezy comes from my daughter's nickname. She's fearless, strong, soft when she needs to be, humble and confident, all at once. Every piece we make carries a little of that.
